Report of National Institute of Health
1972 Volume.9 No. 0 p.283 ~ p.288
A Proposal for the specification of laboratory reagents, glasswares and other expendables.

Abstract
In the National Institute of Health, a Number of Laboratory reagents, glasswares and expendables had been in wide use for performing various tests and experiments.
A variatiea of chemical reagents, biological products glasswares and other materials in qualities and grades were required to be supplied in order to perform many hundreds kind of test and experiment in the Institute.
It is weel known that, there are much difference in purity and grade between the products of different makers even in a single chemical substance on which the same labels are used and there are many differences in size and design in a single test tube on which the similar expressions are adopted. In addition to that many kinds of laboratory reagents and glasswares had been supplied by importing them from various makers and countries because of the different specifications to carry out varieties of specified tests and experiments.
As the persons who were in positions to supply all the material requested, in proper time limit the idea of specifying the reagents and glasslwares including other expendable materials would have already been broughe up to the test and practiced.
Thus several trials were attempted on the specification of chemical reagents, biological products, glasswares and other expendables in order to save time consuming and man power, and also for the convenience of carrying out efficient stock coutrol system in the Institute.
It is hoped that the proposal made in this report would be studied more by other experts concerned with the laboratory works and supply works and would be recommended for the use in other sections of governmental services.
